“NO” IS MY FAVORITE WORD!

WARREN BUFFETT’S TWO-LETTER FAVORITE WORD
Warren Buffett Says, “What Separates Successful People from Everyone Else Really Comes Down to a Two-Letter Word – NO.” When Steve Jobs returned to a broken Apple, his first job was to put an immediate STOP to dumb projects. He picked the winners (think iPod, iPhone, Ipad, etc.) and said NO to zero-value money pit projects. Probably the ones our Federal officials would fully fund!
Disney Corporation recently fired its CEO for too many BAD YES decisions. Bob Eisner returns as CEO to say my favorite word, NO, get costs down, and return Disney to better days.
Come on, close your eyes, and imagine the joy of that word the next time your significant other makes ANOTHER request for you to do X, where you prefer a dental procedure without pain medication! I can give you plenty of examples if needed!
NO TO ALMOST EVERYTHING- ESPECIALLY THE DUMB!
Some things like the below are easy NOs. In fact, a HELL NO!
The above three auto salespeople are bragging about which has the biggest (dumbest) car loan payment. WOW! That would be like my college days if guys bragged about who has the smallest X%&*#. Wallet people – clean up your thoughts.
I never realized auto salespeople made that much money. I’m negotiating harder next time!
Why are so many begging for college loan tuition forgiveness if car sales peeps make this much money?

FOCUS YOUR VALUABLE TIME AND MONEY ON WHAT YOU CONTROL
I control my money, time, and who I love. I get the same 24 hours as you and try not to waste it doing nauseous activities. So, I learned to say NO, sometimes as politely as possible, and sometimes NOT! Now that I think about it, I learned this trait first from my best friend and brother! Shout out to Bill!
The goal is to simplify our lives and keep our sanity. This means saying no to things that either bring us little value or annoy the HOT SAUCE out of us!
Steve Jobs said, “I’m actually as proud of the things we haven’t done as the things I have done. Innovation is saying no to 1,000 things.”
I ROUTINELY SAY NO TO:
- Unsolicited investment advice
- Investment ideas with unbelievable returns – If it sounds too good- walk away.
- Activities that offer ZERO value
- Superficial networking. Successful people build two-way value-added relationships. Who cares how many Facebook “friends” I have?
- I can hire someone to do mundane tasks, especially activities others have better abilities and skills to get the job done. I gave up lawn maintenance decades ago.
THINGS I WANT TO GET BETTER AT SAYING NO TO:
- Neglecting my wishes and desires for others’ utilization of my time.
- Accommodating and yielding to others’ wishes and desires. If you are loved and adored, I will adjust.
- Desert!
Now go to the mirror and practice a Mike Tyson NO!
You get this look down; most of the time, you will not have to open your mouth! Just leave the ears out of it!!
MICHELLE HAS MASTERED THE WORD NO! SO SHOULD YOU!
How often have you seen an ad about a new investment or software guaranteed to make you rich? Do not click or go if it sounds too good; STOP/DELETE – SAY NO!

Confession: Sometimes I say NO, to get a rise out of my wife! Do not ever tell her I said that.
