THE MOST IMPORTANT DECISIONS YOU WILL MAKE – CHOOSING YOUR “TRUE FRIENDS”

I just finished looking at “Bill Gates Brain” on Netflix.  Excellent documentary.

The Netflix film, showed from an early age Bill Gates choose successful, intelligent and loyal friends. The film demonstrated – THE MOST IMPORTANT DECISIONS YOU WILL MAKE – CHOOSING YOUR “TRUE FRIENDS”

I have been fortunate to meet and work with many successful people over my life time.   They all surround themselves with exceptional people, with “True Friends”.

Most of our successes and failures are helped along the way by someone.  Your True Friends are more likely to lead you to wins!

A TRUE FRIEND

THE MOST IMPORTANT DECISIONS YOU WILL MAKE – CHOOSING YOUR “TRUE FRIENDS”

Someone who will not lie to you. They respect you for who you are and make every moment with you count.   Time with those friends is often fun and you can be yourself.  These friends understand and trust you. They help you solve your problems, celebrate your wins and will stand by your side when you are down.

YOUR TRUE FRIENDS

TWO OF MY TRUE FRIENDS – MY DAUGHTER AND BROTHER

Do you have True Friends or a bunch of acquittances/Face Book friends?  Are your friends’ winners or losers?   Sorry to be blunt but life is too short, so seek the absolute best people to be your friends.  I am lucky as my best and true friend is my brother.  My college classmate, Clifton, also a True Friend is brilliant and honest. I quickly learned this man never uses profanity, never loses his temper (even when I deserve it) , and is one of the smartest people I have met. My true friends make me a better man.  They supported me in achieving my dreams and helped me see when I was wrong.

A shout out to my newest True Friend – Jake. An outstanding role model.

Do your friends make you a better person?  Are they inspiring you to do more than you ever thought possible?  Or do you surround yourself with acquittances that by luck you happen to meet in school, work, play, etc.?   Friendship is a choice.  I suggest you choose wisely.

CONCLUSION

MY ABSOLUTE BEST FRIEND IN THE WORLD – MY BROTHER!

It is rare to find people that care about you WITHOUT another agenda.  People who want to see you achieve your dreams and encourage you along the way.  They are like a cheerleader, and a hard-nosed coach rolled in one package.  They believe in you during the good and tough times.  Be grateful for those people and ALWAYS keep your “TRUE” friends close!

How do you find true friends?  Start by being a good friend.  Perform a self-assessment.  Are there some changes you need to make to qualify as a good/true friend yourself?  Do you need to be a wee bit nicer, a better listener, more honest?  What do you need to be a better person and at some point, a true friend?

THE MOST IMPORTANT DECISIONS YOU WILL MAKE – CHOOSING YOUR “TRUE FRIENDS”. Luck is not a strategy, so work hard at finding and keeping your TRUE FRIENDS!
