APRIL IS FINANCIAL LITERACY MONTH – YOU SHOULD CARE!
Disclaimer: Good Day, Readers. WealthBuildingPowers blog is a financial literacy/competency blog and does not provide specific investment recommendations.

April is National Financial Literacy Month. It is needed more today than ever.
TODAY’S REALITY
- The U.S. is > $34 Trillion in Debt
- Social Security and Medicare are running out of funding.
- Life expectancies are almost 20 years longer than when social security was established.
- The majority of private employers do NOT offer pensions.
- Americans are poor savers.
- Americans, on average, score an F grade in financial literacy.
- Today, more than ever, you must be aware of and avoid frauds and scams.
I conclude from the above list that neither the government nor your employer has your back!
Schools, including universities, teach little about earning, saving, borrowing, investing, and protecting money to help secure one’s financial future. Understanding financial services, products, and investments is essential to improving one’s chances of economic well-being. You must build YOUR financial literacy.

WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT TO ME!
My paternal grandfather did not complete high school. He and his family lived in a home without running water until his son {my dad}, who used VA Education Assistance to graduate with two university degrees and become a well-respected school principal, purchased his mom a home with running water and essentials we consider the norm.
Last week, my wife and I vacationed in Europe. We spent seven days on a cruise, where I met a diverse group of people who achieved their financial freedom. How? With ambition and by putting in the work necessary to earn, save, borrow, invest, and protect their money.
My goal with my weekly postings is to help you gain the knowledge you need to reach your financial goals and fulfill your ambitions.
Wealth Building Powers blogs build on the decades of lessons I studied and learned the hard way. Hard work, continuous learning, and avoidance of repeated mistakes are essential.

The paths to financial freedom are UNLIMITED. CHOOSE YOUR OWN!
