MAKE YOUR VOTES COUNT – SUPPORT CANDIDATES THAT FUND CHARTER SCHOOLS!
My wife recommended this week’s blog topic and requested I show no bias so please let me know how I do!

I TRUST FEW politicians. This time of year, I see Facebook posts employing everyone to vote. I believe voting has become futile if you desire meaningful change. Most votes are cast by party line regardless how ridiculously incompetent the candidate may be. Voting for the same lying politicians, who come in a red and blue flavor, with a few Socialists thrown in for the sake of diversity Is DOING ABSOLUTELY ZERO to address the serious problems we face as a nation.

I IMPLORE YOU TO FIND CANDIDATES THAT CARE AS MUCH AS YOU DO ABOUT YOUR KEY ISSUES.
Rather than a simple party line vote, I recommend examining a candidate’s platform and comparing it to your top issues. Does the candidate have any intention of taking real action to address the serious issues impacting you, your family and this country?
AS AN AFRICAN AMERICAN ONE OF MY CONCERNS IS THE LACK OF QUALITY EDUCATION IN MANY URBAN SCHOOLS

I cannot convince you in a few sentences why GOOD Charter Schools offer poor black and brown people an opportunity to move out of poverty. If black and brown children matter, I suggest you read: Charter Schools and Their Enemies, by Thomas Sowell. If you agree with this fact and data filled book, then support and vote for those candidates that strongly support the rights of ALL {Wealthy, Poor, Black, White, ALL) parents to have choice of schools, including Private, Charter and Home Schooling.”
The US spends more per pupil than any nation and yet we are ranked close to 30th in math and science. Kids who have parents with good jobs tend to attend the best public schools or are sent to private schools. These kids live in upscale neighborhoods where their parents pay thousands of dollars in real estate taxes and they go to abundantly funded schools.
How about the Urban City kids with parents struggling to find a job? We push too many poor students to PASS-THRU SHI_HOLE schools that fail to educate. The data indicates many of our Urban city schools are severely underperforming on standardized test. And those parents have essentially zero options. While good charter schools often outperform public schools in the same communities (often the same school building), their enrollment is severely restricted. To get a student accepted parent(s) enter a lottery, similar to buying a scratch off ticket at the 7-Eleven. With horrible odds and outcomes to the majority of the parents and kids who lose and have to leave their child in a poor performing school. Is this Fair? We keep doing the same thing – NOTHING and expecting change. As a nation, WE are failing the most vulnerable students.

WITHOUT EDUCATION MILLIONS WILL REMAIN IN POVERTY!

Education is learning what is necessary to be competent in the craft you choose to earn income. If you want to be a GREAT brain surgeon, you need almost a dozen years of education following high school. If you want to be a GREAT brick mason, maybe one year following high school coupled with working for an experienced brick mason.
A BRICK-MASON’S JOURNEY TO BECOMING A MILLIONAIRE!
Too many of our cities’ public high schools fail to properly prepare today’s younger generation for available jobs, which pay significantly greater than minimum wage. This is one reason for great racial inequality and lack of opportunity/jobs.
Skills training is increasingly important, and the negligence of our education systems to be responsive to employers’ current needs is producing people who have given up.
School choice allows public education funds to follow students to the schools or services that best fit their needs—whether that’s to a public school, private school, charter school, home school or any other learning environment parents choose for their kids.
CONCLUSION – CHILDREN’S FUTURES HANG IN THE BALANCE!

I do not care if you vote for a Democrat, Republican, Independent or write in candidate. It is your vote – MAKE IT COUNT! Remember WHAT Albert Einstein said, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”
