Yes, You Need A Designated “Hell NO Wingman”!

Last week, I watched two billionaires—President Trump and Elon Musk, the world’s richest man—go head-to-head on social media. A digital battle of “Mine’s bigger than yours.” Looked like they were filming a reality TV Show from the West Wing!
I’m betting neither has a Designated “Hell No Wingman”! Someone who can look them straight in the face and say, “Put the phone down, dummy. And their trust and respect are strong enough that they listen.
How often does anyone have the courage to say No to these two men? One had a TV Show where he fired one loser each week. Elon can design a weapon of mass destruction on his napkin over lunch! Are you telling him NO???
Do either of these guys have a designated “Hell No” person? Someone who can look them straight in the face and say, “Put the phone down, dummy. And your friendship and trust in you are so strong that they do not have their security guys toss you out the tenth-floor window!
We all need that person. The friend, colleague, spouse, sibling—someone who’ll call us out before we tweet something career-ending, marry that dimwit, hit send on that 2 a.m. drunk email to your boss. You get it. This individual calls you out, calms you down, and, if necessary, takes your damn phone. It would have been great last week when Musk and Trump were making many of us ask how they became so damn rich!
The world doesn’t need more “Yes” people—it needs friends who’ll say, Stop Acting Like a Fool. Trust me, I have benefited from my Wingmen, but I also made life-altering mistakes when no one stopped me.
Identify Your HELL NO WINGMEN NOW and let them know their responsibility!
